Jorge Pacheco grew up reading comic books and comic strips enjoying the works of artists such as Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Wally Wood, Jack Davis, Richard Corben, John Byrne, Hal Foster, and Charles Schulz to name just a few, and watching TV shows such as Popeye, The Fantastic Four, Jonny Quest, Speed Racer, Godzilla, and other Kaiju monster shows.
Both of Mr. Pacheco’s parents were artists. His father, Jorge, was a professor of Art at Purdue University and also a musician, and his mother, Judy, was an Art Minor and Shakespeare Major who taught both high school english and theater. With all those influences, it is no wonder Mr. Pacheco has been a professional comic book artist for the past 38 years.
As a graduate of the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon Art in 1986, Mr. Pacheco has worked for most of the prominent comic book companies. He was also staff artist at Harvey Comics from 1990-1995 working on characters such as Casper, Richie Rich, and Baby Huey. Other famous characters Mr. Pacheco has worked on include Scooby Doo, The Flintstones, Bullwinkle & Rocky. Mr. Pacheco also briefly worked for Jim (Garfield) Davis, had his own syndicated comic strip named “CEO Dad”, and has spoken at both the Charles Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, CA and the Chuck Jones Museum in San Diego, CA.
When Mr. Pacheco is not sitting behind his drawing table, he enjoys playing tennis, jogging, and taking naps, but his greatest joy is spending time with his family, wife Sabine, son JJ, daughter Lizzie, and foster son Joseph.
