Tony McKenna

Tony Mckenna is from London. For the past five years he has worked as a writer, copy editor and journalist whose work has been featured by The Huffington Post, NewStatesman, ABC Australia, The Progressive, New Internationalist, Adbusters, The United Nations, In These Times, New Humanist, Overland Literary Journal, Counterpunch, Monthly Review, Open Democracy and many others.
He has a special interest in the philosophy of Hegel and Marx, and his academic work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals including Science and Society, Critique: Journal of Socialist Theory, Rethinking Marxism, Socialism and Democracy, International Critical Thought and Marx and Philosophy Review of Books.
His first book – Art, Literature and Culture from a Marxist Perspective – was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2015. His second book – The Dictator, The Revolution, The Machine: A Political Biography of Joseph Stalin – came out the following year. Both books received critical acclaim.
The Dying Light is his first novel.
