Mark Baxter

Mark Baxter is from South East London. He is a writer and filmmaker. He loves his wife Lou, Millwall, red wine and Tubby Hayes in that order. Mark has written 12 books.

Born in London in 1962, I have been self employed since 2008.
‘The Fashion of Football’ with Paolo Hewitt (Mainstream 2004), was voted as one of the top 50 football books of all time by 442 magazine.

The Mumper with Paolo Hewitt (Mono Media Books 2007/ 3rd book – reprinted Orion Books 2012) was made into the feature length film, ‘Outside Bet’ April 2012, starring Bob Hoskins, Jenny Agutter, Calum MacNab and Phil Davies. Distributed by Universal Pictures.

‘The A-Z of Mod’ with Paolo Hewitt (Prestel 2012) Foreword by actor Martin Freeman

‘Walworth Through Time'(Amberley 2010) with Darren Lock. Looks at the area of SE17. 2nd volume was published in June 2012. 3rd volume was published at the end of 2014. 4th volume – a compilation of the first three.
